We wanted to share with you all a job we recently completed, and walk you through what we did for this homeowner.

What you see here is the roof we started with, it is an older three-tab compostion shingle, installed over a standard 15# felt paper underlayment. We had already began tearing off the roof at this point, but you can see how easily the shingle where coming up.


We are always very careful to protect our homeowner's property, here the crew has used a tarp to cover a particularly vulnerable area of the owner's property. The guys also make sure that all debris is cleaned and the ground is swept with a magnet several times a day. This assures you as well as us, that the area is left clean and safe.


Once we had removed all the old roofing, and cleaned the area. We installed an Altas Stormmaster ® slate, lifetime warranty, algae resistant class 4 shingle. By the way, a class 4 shingle will get you a discount on your insurance premiums in most cases, ask your insurance agent about their class 4 shingle discounts.

Since we like to make sure what ever roofing systems we install is compliant with that manufactures specifications, so our homeowners get the full benefit of the materials warranty, we used an Atlas synthetic underlayment called Summit.
